What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is deemed as a complementary healing technique and is the use of essential oils (which are extracted from plants) for healing
purposes. Although the word "aroma" makes it sound as if the oils are inhaled - they are usually massaged into the skin.
Essential oils have been used for centuries & in general, the use of aromatherapy oils during a massage helps to relieve pain, improves
the mood by alleviating anxieties & stress issues and can help promote a deeper sense of relaxation.
Studies have shown that essential oils may help:
• Boost your mood.
• Improve job performance through reduced stress and increased alertness.
• Improve effective sleep.
• Reduces anxiety and pain.
• Reduces inflammation.
• Relieves headaches.
Health & Safety requirements state that I must complete a client consultation with you to cover any appropriate medical history and also
to ascertain any known allergic reactions.
We will specifically discuss any concerns, issues or conditions - which can vary from stress/anxieties, sleep problems and general well being, to more specific issues, such as the relief of pain or muscular problems etc. Aromatherapy essential oils are also able to help manage moods, anxieties, relaxation issues and emotional health.
The massage is usually performed using a base massage oil only. However, essential oils may be added upon request - made up individually for you - using my knowledge and experience of essential oils & their benefits.
